Coming in at number 24 is Hector Perez. He’s currently 23 with a 30 Current grade and 40 Future Grade. His overall grade is 35.1, which is actually tied for 21st with 3 others.

Perez was one of two prospects (Ken Giles also) acquired for Robert Osuna. Since then he’s had massive workloads in the minors for New Hampshire and is knocking on the door for a September call-up. He is on the 40-man, so a late promotion in the season might make sense.

In New Hampshire this season, Hector has posted a 4.60 ERA in 115 innings. With a 1.63 WHIP, 9.1 K/7 and the biggest concern – a 5.2 BB/9. His command has been his biggest weakness and dropping from a 3.86 ERA/1.27 WHIP campaign in 2018 for the Fisher Cats last year to this, is concerning for sure. All of that aside – Hector will be a Blue Jay, whether that’s in September, next season, or the September after that. He’ll make an appearance in Toronto and hopefully in a bullpen role.
