New Hampshire 6 Somerset 1
Somerest 12 New Hampshire 0
Left hander Zach Logue was about as dominant as he could be in leading the Fisher Cats to victory in the first game of a doubleheader. Logue’s first six outs were via the strikeout, and he was in command all the way, fanning a career-best 12 over six innings, a fifth inning solo HR his only miscue of the day. He pounded the strike zone, throwing 60 of his 88 pitches for strikes. Logue changed speeds on his fastball, and located all of his pitches to all parts of the strike zone in keeping the Somerset hitters off balance.:
The nightcap was a different story. It was to be a bullpen effort, but starter Cre Finfrock was unable to get out of the first inning, retiring only one hitter before being replaced after giving up 5 runs on 3 hits and a pair of walks. Relievers Connor Law and Willy Gaston were roughed up as well.
