Buffalo 4 Worcester 1

What more can we say about Alek Manoah? He did give up his first AAA run (a 2nd inning long ball), but otherwise he was dominant once again, striking out 10 in 6 innings for the Bisons. Manoah’s fastball-slider combination was simply too much for the Woo Sox.

Juan Gaterol’s 2-run homer in the top of the 2nd would be all the offence the Buffalo pitching staff needed. A trio of relievers preserved the W, with Hobie Harris getting credit for his 3rd Save.

Low A

Dunedin 5 Clearwater 1

Jol Concepcion put things together in a big way for the D-Jays, tossing six innings of one-run ball to lead the team to victory.

Concepcion walked one and fanned three, and his ten groundouts demonstrated his mastery of the bottom of the strike zone. P.K. Morris and Leo Jimenez had a pair of hits, while Gabriel Ponce pitched 1.1 innings to gain the Save.

High A

Vancouver 6 Hillsboro 1

Strong starting pitching and a 3-run 5th propelled the red-hot Canadians to their seventh straight win over the Hops.

Troy Miller allowed only a run on two hits over five innings, although he struggled with his command, walking five. Newly-promoted Lazaro Estrada pitched a pair of scoreless innings, and Justin Maese continued his comeback with two shutout frames as well.

On offence, DJ Neal came off the IL to contribute a pair of hits. Cameron Eden hit his first High A HR, and stole his minor league-leading 12th base.

Portland 3 New Hampshire 2

A 9th inning rally just fell short as the Fisher Cats dropped a close one to the Sea Dogs.

New Hampshire starter Kevin Johnston had his finest AA start, pitching into the 6th inning, and not allowing a run. The New Hampshire bullpen couldn’t hang onto the one run lead they were presented with, however.

Austin Martin and Jordan Groshans had the night off as they recover from minor injuries, while Gabriel Moreno had a rest day.

Otto Lopez showed opposite field gap power with a double, extending his hit streak of 12 games.
