Vancouver 3 Spokane 2
The C’s moved to a game over .500 by topping Spokane.
Luis De Los Santos’ three run round tripper in the home half of the 6th proved to be the margin of victory. Vancouver starter C.J. Van Eyk rebounded from a rough pro debut to toss 4.2 innings of 3 hit ball, fanning 7. Beaverton, OR native Brandon Eisert, who grew up less than 20 minutes from the C’s temporary home in Hillsboro, got the W in his first appearance with the team since his promotion from Dunedin. The southpaw retired all seven men he faced, and struck out the side in the 7th.
Justin Maese earned the Save in his impressive comeback from a two year (plus Covid) layoff, while Spencer Horwitz reached base in all four of his plate appearances.
Buffalo 3 Rochester 1
SS Breyvic Valera led the offence, and T.J. Zeuch threw six strong innings to lead the Bisons/Thunder to their second straight win over the Red Wings.
Valera drove in all 3 Buffalo runs, including the go-ahead tallies with a two run single in the 7th.
Tayler Saucedo threw two scoreless innings in relief. The lefty has not been scored upon in 8 innings over 4 appearances. Hobie Harris pitched a shutout 9th to record the Save.
Somerset 6 New Hampshire 1
Kyle Johnson threw five scoreless innings to start the game for the Fisher Cats, but an eighth inning bullpen collapse led to 4 Somerset runs.
Otto Lopez and Vinny Capra had two hits each for New Hampshire, while Austin Martin broke an 0-13 stretch with a single in the 8th.
Bradenton 4 Dunedin 1
DH Zach Britton hit his second HR of the year, but that was all the offence the D-Jays could muster in a loss to the Marauders.
Starter Jol Concepcion bounced back from a rough first start of the season, but battled command issues in issuing 5 walks in 4 innings.
