Vladimir Guerrero hit what will be his last minor league Home Run as Buffalo banged out 13 hits in a 5-4 win at Syracuse. Lourdes Gurriel Jr and Cavan Biggio had three hits each, with Biggio cracking his 3rd round tripper. The Bisons installed Anthony Alford, who is now 3-37 over his last 10, at the top of the order in the hopes of getting him going, but he took the collar with an 0-4. Sean Reid-Foley gave up four earned runs before leaving the game with two out in the 5th, striking out 7.
At Lansing, the high-flying Lugnuts offence struck for 8 runs and 11 hits, but fell 10-8 to South Bend. Starter Sean Wymer’s velo loss has been a concern for the organization this year, and he missed few bats in giving up 5 runs (all earned) over 3.2 innings. Alejandro Kirk’s booming bat was the highlight of Lansing’s offence, as he hit a double off the LF wall, and a long Home Run to Left. Jordan Groshans chipped in with this 3rd long ball of the year as part of a three-hit afternoon. Over the three game series, Lansing rapped out 42 hits.
New Hampshire handed visiting Trenton a 7-2 setback. Zach Logue continued his fine start, holding his velo (92) through 6 before giving way to the pen. Santiago Espinal paced the Fisher Cats attack with 3 hits, and Chad Spanberger, Brock Lundquist, and Vinny Capra added a pair. Jackson McClelland fanned four over two shutout innings, and Bryan Baker (despite loading the bases with walks) closed things out with a scoreless frame.
In Daytona, the visiting D-Jays struck for a run in the top of the 10th, but the Tortugas answered with 2 in the bottom half of the inning to walk Dunedin off 6-5. Logan Warmoth knocked out 3 hits, including his second HR of the year, and Riley Adams contributed a pair of hits for Dunedin. Kyle Weatherly tossed a pair of scoreless innings in middle relief for the D-Jays, and ran his scoreless streak to 8 innings over 5 outings.
Enjoy Vlad Jr, Toronto. We called him the Blue Jays 10th ranked prospect before he had even played a professional game, and named him #1 after his first pro season in 2016. He’s done nothing since then to diminish his status. The younger Guerrero will be a truly generational bat, and will prove to be more than worth the wait.
According to the official stats of the Lansing game, Alejandro Kirk had one HR and one 2B not 2 HRs.

I’ve learned this happens with Game Day.
Trust me, I was there.

LOL……I saw a lot of barrelled up balls over the 3 days, and stayed up to watch Washington/Carolina in OT after a five hour drive home. Thanks for the correction. His double had an exit velo of 103. He dented the LF wall.
