Down on the Blue Jays Farm – April 12th

The night that was in the Blue Jays farm system…..

Buffalo fell 4-1 in a rain-shortened five inning affair to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.  Ryan Tepera pitched a scoreless first inning in a rehab outing, while Jordan Patterson’s HR provided the only Bison offence on the night.  Sean Reid-Foley pitched a scoreless second and third innings, but was done in by a four-run 4th.

New Hampshire evened their record to 4-4 with a 4-2 win in Hartford.  Zach Logue left the game with two out in the fifth, handing things over to the Fisher Cats bullpen.  Jake Fishman and Kirby Snead each provided two innings of shutout relief to lock the W down.

Dunedin remained undefeated at home with an 8-6 triumph over Bradenton.  Dunedin put up a 5-run first inning and a 3-run 5th in order to hold off a late Bradenton rally.  Norberto Obeso, up from Extended, had three hits in his first game of the year, as did Kevin Vicuña.  Justin Dillon pitched 6 innings for the W.

Lansing snapped a three game losing streak with a 9th inning rally at South Bend to edge the Cubs 5-4.  Alejandro Kirk and Jordan Groshans hit long balls in the early going to stake the Lugnuts to a 3-0, but South Bend came back with four runs to take the lead.  Lansing scored a run in the 8th to draw even, setting up the dramatic 9th.  Jake Brodt drew a walk after an 11 pitch AB, giving way to pinch runner Reggie Pruitt.  Pruitt stole his 4th base of the year, then later came around to score on a McGregory Contreras single.  Connor Law, who came in relief of starter Sean Wymer, pitched a scoreless ninth to get the win.
